Tuesday
One week.
Next Tuesday, I turn 34.
I must find something appropriately anti-34 to do for my birthday. Like Nickelcade.

I forgot to mention something in last night’s post: There’s snow on the mountains. I still find it amusing that it snows “so early” here.

On the radio this morning, one of the DJs had a call from (or to…) a friend of his in Detroit. The friend set up the following scenario: He was sitting at the bar in a nearly-empty pub (2 or 3 other people there, plenty of other seats available) when someone sits down in a stool next to him. It’s a woman. She proceeds to buy him a beer and chats him up a bit. As she leaves, she gives him her business card and tells him that he should call her.

So far, so good.

The radio station call was to help him decide whether or not he should tell his significant other.

In light of this, I thought that I’d do a little poll:

Stray Toasters

  • The cats have been playing tag through the house. High-speed. Up and down the stairs. Pounce on each other. Tag.
  • I have a VERY low threshold/tolerance for drama.
  • I watched Comedy Central’s Wanda Does It for the first time tonight. It started with her cursing an airline pilot out… and the rest of the show was her taking flight classes. I think that I laughed through almost the entire show.
  • GetUpMove.com – DDR as an exercise/weight-loss method
  • I thought that this was a great pic of Carol Danvers, the Avenger known as Warbird:

  • The latest word on the forthcoming Superman movie seems to indicate that Bryan Singer is going not only ignore the Superman III and Superman IV (thank God), but that he is going to make it a continuation from Superman II. In fact, there’s talk that Terence Stamp will reprise his role as General Zod. More information here.
  • Looking at this picture made me decide which icon to use for tonight’s post.
  • “What the hell are you doing?”
    “I’m in Pon Farr?”

  • Does anyone remember EA’s Skate or Die or its follow up, Ski or Die?
  • By way of : Get hip to chav as this year’s wizard word
Word of the year for 1970: “hypermarket” O_o

  • Late night TV can be… interesting, to say the least. Fortunately, there are other things to watch besides infomercials. Here are a couple of things that have stood out tonight:
    • Last Call with Carson Daly: Tom Green used to be an MC. And he can freestyle rap. Pretty damned well, too.
    • Last Call with Carson Daly: Maria Menounos’ laugh sounds like Fran Drescher trying to imitate dolphin chirping.
    • Oprah Winfrey (Yeah, yeah, yeah… that Oprah. Shut up. I used to watch her over 25 years ago when she used to do the news in Baltimore): Jamie Foxx is on. They’re talking about his portrayal of the late Ray Charles in the upcoming movie Ray.
    • By the way…. and , Sue Johanson will be on Last Call Wednesday night. Just letting you know since you seemed to enjoy her show so much the other night.
  • For those of you who took the poll above, here’s a little more information about the guy’s dilemma. These factoids came up a bit later in the segment:
    • He’s married.
    • He had taken his son to hockey practice…. but left to get a bite to eat.
    • I think that the woman knew that he was married.

Now, with these added facts, do you think that he should tell his wife?

And with that…

Namaste.
