So far, this is turning out to be a decent NBN Thursday.

I stopped at Beans & Brews for a liquid jump-start.  I got it for free because they had royally screwed up my order the last time I was in.  That’s a good way to start the morning.  On to the SLC office to pick up something… which wasn’t there.   Oh, well.  So, in the words of Bobby Brown, I “…packed up the crew, got a grip came equipped, grabbed the proton packs out the back and then split.”  The morning race wasn’t too bad; there was a bit of coagulation around the Draper/Bluffdale area, but aside from that, it was cake.

Last night, I picked up this week’s four-color shwag.  Only two things: 52: Week Thirty-Eight and Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes #26.  And my Sentinel.  That’s right.  Sentinel.  16″ of robotic, mutant-hunting doom… in plastic form.  Thirty-three points of articulation.  Compared to the HeroClix Sentinel, this figure is MASSIVE.  Comparatively, it might as well be the Master Mold.  Okay, it’s not quite that big, but the ‘Clix Sentinel is only 6⅝” tall.  In the Marvel Universe, Sentinels were fearsome creations.  While the ‘Clix versions are “big figures,” in game terms, they don’t give the same sense of, as Bill Cosby once said, “…first you say it, then you do it” costume/clothes-changing doom that the Marvel Legends Sentinel does.  I am a happy kid.
I also drove to South Jordan to see Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles:

It wasn’t too bad.  Some of the dialogue was cheesy… but it was a nice return to the Robotech universe.  And, it seems as though it could be the jumping-off point for a new Robotech series.  Either way, it wasn’t a bad way to spend an hour-and-a-half.  And Mark Hamill, yes that Mark Hamill even provided a voice.  I was surprised, pleasantly so, to find that Chase Masterson, whom I most remember as Leeta from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, also provided a voice.

After that, I stopped in to visit for a bit.

And I made it an early evening.  Sleep.  Who knew?

  • I just explained the difference between a “boy mouse” and a “girl mouse” to coworker John.

For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about: A “boy mouse” has a roller ball.

For those of you who still have no idea what I’m talking about:  A “girl mouse” is an optical mouse.

For those who need it spelled out: A “girl mouse” has no balls.  (HINT: Think in terms of Biology 101.)
