  • I Get the Job Done by Big Daddy Kane
  • I Go to Work by Kool Moe Dee

Stray Toasters

  • Scent of a Woman. Good movie. Good quotes, too.
  • I heard this on the radio this morning… then saw an article in USA Today… and I just don’t know what to say about it: “Louisiana black church will pay whites to attend”. No. That’s not true. I do know what to say: What in the Nine Hells is this man thinking?!? I understand the desire to bolster the ranks of the congregation. I also think that it’s commendable that he would like to have a more racially-integrated congregation. But to pay people to come to church?! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?! To me, that steps out of the realm of “faith” and crosses over into “mercenary.” Think about it: If this idea was to catch on, it wouldn’t be to far-fetched to see someone pitting church against church: “Well, Church X is offering me this much to attend Sunday service… How much am I worth to you?”
    ::: braincramp :::
    “Father, forgive them. They know not what they do.”
  • And since I’ve already crossed over into Holy Ground (…and, thus, I can’t be beheaded by another immortal…), The Vatican has re-affirmed The Catholic Church’ stand on (or rather “against”) gay marriage and adoption.
  • David Lucas, who provided the English voice for Spike Siegel on Cowboy Bebop, is also doing the voice of Roger Smith on The Big O. Innnnteresting.
  • In the wake of the furor over the “terrorism futures market” debacle, John Poindexter is set to resign.
  • New Kidz Bop CD… *sigh*

Quote of the Day
After watching C.S.I. tonight, I was looking at IMDb‘s entry for the show. This led me to the Memorable Quotes page. And thus, to tonight’s QotD:

Gil Grissom: Hey Doc, tell me something I don’t know.
Dr. David Robbins: When I was in fourth grade, I dropped karate because some kid half my size made me cry.

T-t-t-that’s all folks!

Namaste.
