Ten minutes to football. Life is good. Or, as Langston Hughes wrote: “Life is fine! Fine as wine! Life is fine!” It will be even “better” after Wednesday morning when we get the new satellite system installed.
::: Football Update :::

The CBS feed that we get is showing the Ravens game! Hoo-AH!
On the negative side, neither Ray Lewis nor Michael McCrary are playing, due to injuries. That leaves a couple of potential problems on the defensive side of the field. Hmm. Yeah, big problems: On their first drive, the Colts have just marched it downfield. And scored. Not good.
On the positive side, the offensive unit looks like they have some cohesion… and some skills. And a little fire, too. There is hope.
::: End Update :::
Yesterday wasn’t a bad day either…
- They rebroadcast “The Stuff of Heroes” (Season 3, ep. 2) of X-Men: Evolution, which I missed when it aired a few weeks ago.
- Talked to the paternal parental unit and the paternal grandmother unit.
- Went to lunch with Jess and some friends.
- We then saw The Transporter at
Larryland Norththe Gateway. After the movie, we wandered around the shops for a while. We even stopped in to say “hi” to (or “harass,” depending on your p.o.v.). - More wandering.
- Bowling. My first game completely sucked ass; the second game was much more respectable.
and her friend Debi joined us for a little pin-killing action. - Breakfast at the V.I. We sat around and told bad jokes. And people-watched (as usual). And made bad jokes about the people we were watching.
What’s on tap for the post-football part of the afternoon? No idea. But, it’s Day 2 of the three-day weekend, so it doesn’t really matter. It’s all good. Uh-huh! Great. Now, I’m quoting gangsta rap from M.C. Hammer. That cannot be a good sign.
Quote of the Day: Last night, at the V.I.,
Namaste.
