Sunday Night Movie GOOOD!!! ::: gesture :::
everyday glory August 11th, 2003My inner five-year-old is appeased: We saw S.W.A.T. tonight.
It was verra cool. Frosty, even. A nice spin on an old favorite.
- Mr. Jackson proves once again why he is “The Man” (after Avery Brooks, that is).
- Colin Farrell filled the Jim Street role (a.k.a. “The Role Formerly Played By Robert Urich”) well.
- LL Cool J made a good Deke.
- Michelle Rodriguez just kicks ass in general.
- Seeing Josh Charles (formerly on Sports Night… and also from Baltimore) as T.J. McCabe was a welcome surprise.
…and there were even cameos with Steve Forrest and Rod Perry (from the TV series) and Clark Johnson (the director and formerly on Homicide: Life on the Street).
Yes, my inner-Kindergartener was happy. Quite so. So much so that I will be buying this when it comes out on DVD.
And now, it’s almost time to get back into the work-a-day mindset for the upcoming week.
Namaste.
