“I hear archangels rockin’ in Jerusalem, I hear archangels ringin’ dem bells…”
arts and leisure, everyday glory, football, games, music, news and info, quote of the day April 26th, 2008We got back a little while ago from seeing the Utah Valley Handbell Choir perform; a friend of SaraRules is a member, so that was added incentive to go. The performed ten pieces:
- Allegro Glorioso, by Catherine McMichael
- Grazioso, Arnold Sherman
- Staccato Giocoso, Cathy Mokelbust
- Psalm Nine, Carl Wiltse
- Pirates of the Carribean, Hans Zimmer
- Takeda Rhapsody, T. Kanzaki
- Hava Nagila, Traditional Israeli
- Colonel Bogey March, F.J. Ricketts
- Fantasy on “Lasst Uns Erfreuen”, Traditional German (arr. by Glen Hicks)
- Hymn to Joy, Ludvig van Beethoven
The performance reminded of drum corps productions, in the timing and the similar tonalities. It was also a little amusing to find that I remembered all of the words to Hava Nagila, which I haven’t really sung in over 30 years.
Stray Toasters
- As of Round 2, Baltimore has drafted Joe Flacco (QB) and Ray Rice (RB).
- Babies seized by Robert Mugabe’s forces as Zimbabwe hounds voters
- I just bought three (3) pieces of plastic crack:
Quote of the Day
