How I Spent My Sunday-after-Thanksgiving

Okay, it may not have been so noteworthy as to have a title, but what the Hell? You only live twice and might as well enjoy the ride.

  • We slept in… which was nice. Verra nice.
  • Dad called and we talked for a bit.
  • I called him back… because my brain wasn’t fully engaged and I had to make sure that I reminded to get something.
  • Got a call from Jenny (Jess’ sis) asking if we wanted to go to… wait… I have to build up to this one. I’ll come back to it after the list.
  • Hygiene rituals.
  • We met the inlaws and Jenny and Connor (Jenny’s son) for breakfast at the local Cracker Barrel. The food was pretty good. Even saw a few decent mullets.
  • We all then went to the aforementioned “event.” Again, more below
  • Came home.
  • Went to see Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone with Jess and the inlaws. I thought that it was a pretty good movie. I haven’t read the books, but Sandi has and said that it was pretty faithful to them. I kept comparing aspects of it to parts of the Superman mythos and the Star Wars mythos. Go figure. Anyway, I think that it was entertaining and can see why so many people are drawn to the book series.
  • …and then we came home.

And now…. on to “The Event.” When Jenny called, she asked if we wanted to go to this. Yes, friends and neighbors, I got in touch with my inner redneck (again) and went to a monster truck show. It was… umm… uhh… interesting, to say the least. It wasn’t something that I would have normally done, but like the drag races this past summer, it was something that I didn’t see any harm in checking out. Note: I’m still a little dodgy about going to see a live wrestling match, though. If I did that, I think that my turning to the Dark Side would be complete. Click here to see the pics I took – there are also some pics of (MORE) snow and a mullet that we saw at Cracker Barrel.

That’s it… for now.

Peace.
