I talked to my mother for a few minutes this morning. Operative words: “A few minutes.” She had come online to check her email… before going to Hilton Head, SC. She and the family unit are going to be there for a week. *sigh*

Bret called this morning. One of the greatest things about good friends is the “we haven’t talked in weeks/months, but we can pick up a conversation like it’s only been a few days” factor. After the obligatory 2-minute “What’s New with….” session, we fell into old habits. Today we talked about the fact that we don’t want to grow up and things that we can do to prevent it. We also talked about things that our parents do/have done since we have moved out of house and the liberties that our younger sibs received. Conversely, we pointed out the fact that they apparently didn’t take into account with whom they will want/need to live when they reach their golden years. (We decided that this privilege should befall our younger kin.)

All-in-all, not a bad start to the day. All that remains is to decide what to do with the rest of it. Unfortunately, being lazy seems to be the prevailing idea. Oh, well.

Peace.
