Tuesday
Worked. Left early. Amen.
One funny note: I was working in Anchorage letters for a while and a letter came across for: ##### Captain Cock Road. It took me a few seconds to compose myself. There’s a Captain Cook Road there, but it looks like he may have some competition now.

Dee and I went to a Stingers game. Angie had won two tickets, but isn’t a big baseball fan, so… she gave ’em to me. The seats were just off home plate on the first base side; we were about… 20 to 30 feet from the plate. The Stingers played the Nashville Sounds. Yes, The Sounds. I don’t name the teams, I just watch them play. I wasn’t rooting for either team in particular; I was just there to enjoy the game. We had a blast! I had forgotten how much of the ‘watching sports in a live venue’ experience was attributable to the crowd. The Stingers lost 3-0, but I think that the umpires made a bad call in the bottom of the 9th against them that might have given them a chance. *shrug*

Quotes of the Day:

  • Dee: “I’d clap, but I’d spill beer.”
  • Me (After watching the pitcher ‘adjust himself’ repeatedly): “You’ve got three batters to go and handle your business. Don’t bring it onto the field.”

Peace.
