I was talking with and she mentioned that her husband was doing a favor for their landlord. She’s not very happy about this. The first thing that came to mind was Eddie Murphy’s SNL skit “Cill My Landlord.”¹

Of course, with that in mind (and the fact that I could not remember how it went), I looked it up. I was surprised with how many references there were to it. Why I was surprised, no clue. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, here it is:

Dark and lonely on a summer night
Cill my landlord, Cill my landlord
The watchdog’s barking,
do he bite?

Cill my landlord, Cill my landlord

Slip into his window, break his neck
Then his house I start to wreck
Got no reason
What the heck?

Cill my landlord, Cill my landlord

C-I-L-L my landlord

This came out in…. 1986 or ’87. I remember this because one of my classmates and I wrote a parody of this called “Cill My Teacher.” Ahh… high school. I should see if I can dig up a copy of that somewhere.

Peace.
¹ – “Cill” is pronounced “kill.”
