A Java app ate my post. Not only did Java eat the post, it locked and rebooted my system. Which is how I lost the post.

No, really! It’s true! Besides, I don’t have a dog that could have eaten it. And while the kittens like to play on my desk, they were nowhere near here when it went *pfft* So, I can’t blame them.

I think that today’s “highlight” was spending time in three home improvement stores. The excursions weren’t as glorious or adventurous as they could/should have been. I went with a purpose. A mission. And a notebook and pencil.

I went… in search of toilets.

The toilet in the hall bathroom has a nasty crack that leaks. (There’s a really bad joke in there somewhere, but since this has the potential to cause some horrible water damage to the floor and garage ceiling, I’ll skip it.) As such, we’ve stopped using that toilet. I was scouting Home Depot, Lowe’s and Sutherlands for a new fixture for the water closet.

I wasn’t surprised to find sets (tank and bowl) that start around $50 USD. Sticker shock set in when I saw ones upwards of $200, though. I know that a toilet is a valuable piece of plumbing equipment in the modern home, but does one really need to spend that much for something that your ass gets the most use out of? Yes, they’re great for those impromptu “library moments,” but come on…

(NOTE: I was going to put a toilet-related song lyric here… and the only things that I found (immediately) were two songs from Animaniacs. And that made me laugh.)
