“They dream in Middletown…”
everyday glory July 6th, 2004Monday
I went to work for about… an hour and a half. Mainly to check a couple of things that technically could have been saved until tomorrow, but I figured “What the Hell.” No biggie.
I finally hooked up the G3 and monitor. I can tell that I’ve been assimilated into the Borg collective Micro$oft mindset. I kept thinking in terms of WIndows when trying to figure out where things were/”should be.” I was trying to set up the TCP/IP settings, but I couldn’t find them. Because they were right in plain sight! *braincramp* A few minutes (and a lot of pings) later, it was online. I haven’t tried using AppleTalk, but it can at least get to the Interweb.

And, here’s further proof of just how much of a geek I am: My computers are named after ships from Star Trek. I actually went to startrek.com and looked at the entire list of ship names from all of the series to find one for the G3. And find one, I did! (And I was verrrry close to naming it Botany Bay.)
