After a good time – and a very late night – at breakfast, morning came early. We headed north to help Dee and Kim (and the boys) move. This makes four moves that I have helped with in the past six weeks. This was a pretty easy move. Except for moving the washing machine. But we did it. And we got a set of four barstools out of it, too. If we only had a bar…

  • Next weekend is “Quentin Tarantino Weekend” on Bravo. They will feature Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
  • Valley of the Dinosaurs is on Boomerang. Listening to the opening narration, I was reminded of the old DC Comics series The Warlord (1, 2). (Most people would point out the similarities with The Land of the Lost, leave it to me to compare it with a comic book.) In Valley, a family is caught in a whirlpool that drags them into an subterranean world where dinosaurs and “cavemen” still exist. In The Warlord, USAF Maj. Travis Morgan wound up entering the subterranean world of Skartaris when he flew his SR-71 (!) through an uncharted area in the Arctic.
