Today marks the third anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and The Pentagon. A handful of people caused the deaths of thousands. Millions of lives were affected.

I still do not think that the name “Patriot Day” is appropriate to commemorate the day and the lives lost. I still contend that the victims of the attacks did nothing patriotic. They merely happened to be in the wrong places at the wrong time. In fact, if anything, the hijackers/attackers would be considered patriotic to their cause. Unless I’m missing something, I don’t think that we really want to laud their efforts. I think that another name should be found for the day.

I hope that the families and survivors of the September 11th victims have been able to find some measure of peace or solace.
