Friday
Eight more work hours and then I am free of federal service. “Federal service. Hmm, that sounds like I copped it from Starship Troopers. *shrug* It’s amusing to me, at least. I finally got what feels like a decent night’s sleep.

Song of the Day
Limelight by Rush, from the CD “Moving Pictures.” This is a good “get up and get your day started” song (The Spirit of Radio are One Little Victory among Rush’s others.¹) This is the song that was playing on the radio when the alarm went off this morning; it came on at this point:

Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation,
Get on with the fascination,
The real relation,
The underlying theme.

I take that as a good omen.

Link of the Day
Someone posted the link to the self-professed “Best Page in the Universe”. I’m not sure that it is “the best,” but I did find it damned entertaining.

Stray Toasters

  • : Parts of this afternoon’s Talk of the Nation – Science Friday looks like it might be right up your alley.
  • I got to chat with my mother and two of my sibs this morning. I talked to the other sib last night… but, we won’t go into that here.
  • I am experiencing a minor craving for a Goldrush® ice cream sundae from Swensen’s. If only there was a Swensen’s in Salt Lake City…
  • Gameboy Advance users of the world unite! Or something like that. My friend Mycah just posted the URL for the Flash2Advance GBA Backup System. Looks verra interesting…

And that’s it for now. Time to finish my final day of work-prep as a postal employee. (It still seems a little “odd” to say/write that, but it also feels REALLY good to be able to say it.)

Namaste.

¹ – When a word’s singular form ends in “-s” or “-x” or “-sh” (and possibly “-ch”), it is acceptable to denote the possessive form using only an apostrophe. That is to say that you don’t have to write it as “…’s.”
