Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Yesterday was a lazy day. It turned into a lazy afternoon and evening, too. Last night, SaraRules and I watched Gone in 60 Seconds. The original one. From 1974. Some of the things I came away with were:
- The movie was definitely the love child of H.B. Halicki – he wrote, directed, financed, produced and starred in and did most of his own stunts for the film.
- The acting was not great.
- …neither was the fashion. (1974. ‘Nuff said.)
- …neither were the hairstyles. (Again, 1974. Do the math.)
- The plot had holes large enough to drive a fleet of semis in.
- Many/most of the pedestrians – who almost got run over – had no idea that they were in a movie.
- There was a 40-minute car chase at the end of the film… with lots of crashes.
It wasn’t a “bad” movie, per se. But, having seen it once, I don’t necessarily need to see it again.
I also started in on the stuff that Dave saved for me from Free Comic Book Day. Granted, I only read two things: Green Lantern: Blackest Night #0 and Love and Capes #10… but they were both good.
Stray Toasters
- High-Tech Cellist Fuses Music, MacBook
- Dom DeLuises dies at 75
- The Garden of SwEden is having a sale.
- Is your blog a weapon?
- From the “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” and “Longest title ever” files: Massachusetts wants to imprison people for 10 years if they take a nude photo of their over-60 spouse, even with spouse’s consent
- Photos from abandoned clothing factory
- From Comic Book Resources: CBR TV – William Shatner, Part 1
And, back to it…
Namaste.
