“I turn my back to the wind, to catch my breath, before I start off again…”
everyday glory December 15th, 2002Sunday
So far, this has been a fairly lax day. And that’s just fine with me.
::: Football Update :::
Once again, all three teams are playing at the same time.
- They’re playing the Houston Texans. After a lackluster first quarter and a decent second, the Boys from Baltimore are doing all right. Both the offense and the defense are looking rather decent.
Hmm… Houston just scored on a punt return. It was an impressive run. 76 yards. Okay, this isn’t a crippling setback. Yet.
- They are playing the Raiders. So far, they are up 20 – 9.
- Getting owned by the Steelers. Most of the 3rd quarter is gone and they are down 20 – 7.
::: End Update :::
Stray Toasters
- Looking out this morning, There were clouds around the peaks on the Wasatch Mountains; that’s where the local ski and snowboarding resorts are located. I had the very random thought of: There are places where people really could be accused of having their heads in the clouds…
- Ian McKellan was the guest on Inside the Actor’s Studio today. I missed most of the show, but I did get to see about… :20 of it. I was reminded of why I think that he’s not only a great actor, but also an interesting man. I’m not sure if they will rebroadcast this episode soon; if they do, check it out.
- Land forwarded me an email with links to this and this. Harry Potter fanfics. “Curiouser and curiouser,” said little Alice… I haven’t had a chance to check them out yet. But, in the interest of “turnabout is fair play” and because of his little diatribe in August (in the cut tag), I sent him this link that someone on IRC.
::: Postgame Update :::
- Won. Won. Lost.
The Minnesota Vikings’ QB Daunte Culpepper just organized one HELL of an end-of-the-game, game-winning drive against the New Orleans Saints. VERY impressive.
::: End Update :::
And now, time to get a little bit of cleaning done and then go to one of the local bookstores for some drawin’ time.
Namaste.
