Stray Toasters

  • For (and/or anyone else who’s interested): Someone made a set of custom New Mutants figures.

  • *cackle*
  • Today’s workout was good. My flat bench was okay for the first two sets, but I had to break up the third set into: 9 – 1 (reverse) – 1 – 1. But, on the plus side, my pull-ups are getting better: I can do two sets, unassisted, without much problem. And today, I fought my way through the third set of ten, unassisted. It was closer to: 8 – 1 – 1, but I didn’t have to use the machine assist.
  • After I got back from the gym, Acolyte Derek asked me to come join a push-up “contest” with some of the developers. (Why they keep deciding to do these challenges on the days when I work out is beyond me.) Oh, well. Mine “is not to reason why…” So, I went to that side of the office and joined in. I did 57, topping the then-leader by two.

Quote of the Day
I have the following picture set as my desktop (this size, centered) in the Salt Lake office:

I received the following message from Dave, who sits next to me, when I’m in SLC:

(10:48:00 AM) Dave: hey man
(10:48:12 AM) Dave: I got my 5yo here and I was wondering if he could use your desk to do some coloring?
(10:48:23 AM) Dave: and by coloring, of course, I mean cracking into your computers…
(10:48:25 AM) Me: Sure!
(10:48:30 AM) Dave: chewing on your stuff…
(10:48:37 AM) Dave: no, that’s the 3yo, sorry, he doesn’t chew anymore
(10:48:39 AM) Me: Well, that’s a given with a 5y0 isn’t it?
(10:52:23 AM) Dave: thanks alot, man.
(10:52:29 AM) Me: Anytime
(10:52:38 AM) Dave: btw, he saw your ‘cute little picture’ on your monitor and I think it left a lasting impression…
(10:52:50 AM) Me: Oh, dear…
(10:52:56 AM) Dave: 🙂
(10:53:03 AM) Dave: I’ll tell you about the nightmares later
(10:53:07 AM) Me: Please. 😀
