I decided to work in the front conference room again today.

So far, I’ve watched…

  • … the weather turn from drab, overcast grey to mostly sunny
  • …people come and go
  • …commuters on I-15
  • …birds flying over the fields near our building
  • …freight trains, heading north and south

…and a guy pick at a zit on his nose.

Seriously.

Our windows have a highly reflective coating on them – we can see out with no problems, but unless it’s dark outside, you can’t see in.

As I mentioned, it’s mostly sunny outside.
Mostly sunny != dark 1 (that’s pretty easy to get your head around)

The young genius in question walked out of the building, cell phone at his ear and stopped in front of one of our windows… and proceeded to squeeze the bejeezus2 out of the side of his nose. As close to the window as he was (elbows on the glass, face about 6″ from the glass), he should have darkened an area of the window to a sufficient degree to have seen in. More importantly, he should have seen Tommy and me staring at him – at first, in disbelief… then laughing. But, he kept on squeezing. He obviously wasn’t going to stop until the job was done. (Gotta love a good work ethic.) And when he was done, he walked into the parking lot.

He came back past the building a couple of minutes ago… and just stared at the window (roughly, at the spot where I was sitting).

He turned his head and walked into the building.
And I laughed.
Again.

1 – In PHP, the symbol != means “is not equal to”
2 – It wasn’t really “bejeezus,” the actual term (or one of them, at least) is “sebum.”
