“So much style without substance, so much stuff without style… It’s hard to recognize the real thing… It comes along once in a while.”
everyday glory December 20th, 2002Thursday
Half day at work.
Spent the rest of the day with Jess.
Quite nice. 🙂
Song of the Day
Today’s Triple Play comes from none other that the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. The songs: Think, Respect, and Rescue Me.
Stray Toasters
- Jess, Ang, and I hung out this evening. We went to Guru’s for dinner and then…
- We saw The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Two Word Review: “Holy shite!” That movie kicked major grass! Peter Jackson has done a wonderful job with it. I sat there, watched it and I was amazed. Granted, it is taken from an epic tale, but it is an epic production on the screen, as well. I may have to check it out again in the near future.
- And… there were also some good trailers before LotR, too: Finding Nemo (from Disney/Pixar), Bad Boys II, and…. wait for it…. wa-a-a-a-ait…. X-Men 2.
- I just saw a commercial for “Hollywood’s Hottest Body Shots” and “Hollywood’s Hottest Love Scenes.” This, to me, falls into the same category of “entertainment” (and I use that term in the broadest sense) as things like “World’s Most (fill-in-the-adjective) Car Crashes” or “When Animals Go Mad” and the like. Is this yet another drain-circling indicator? Could be…
And that’s a wrap for tonight.
Namaste.
