“They say there is strangeness too dangerous in our theaters and bookstore shelves.”
everyday glory November 24th, 2001And another work week ends…
Time at work went by rather quickly. This could have something to do with the fact that I had a good book-on-mp3 to listen to. Today’s selection was Friday, by Robert A. Heinlein. The story follows the exploits of an “artificial person” – a person who was conceived in vitro – and how she, and others of her kind, try to gain acceptance in a world full of prejudices. It makes a few interesting parallels to the notions of “If you aren’t a member of race X or social class Y, then you aren’t good enough to be considered ‘human'” in recent history. (The opinion expressed above DOES reflect the thoughts of the management and staff of… umm… ME.) You can check out others’ opinions, click here or here.
After work, I stopped by Adrian’s and hung out there for a few hours. He’s been buried in work lately, so I haven’t seen him in a while; it was nice to kick back and shoot the breeze with him.
Bonus: My sister who joined the Peace Corps is online! *chats*
And that, as they say, is that.
Peace.
